Our teaching staff consists of an
excellent, qualified and committed team. Apart from their academic qualifications and competencies, they are chosen for their absolute dedication to the profession and experience in meeting the varying needs of our young students.

Teachers interact with their students on a one-to-one basis and provide them with individualised attention. Giving care with a personal touch is their forte.

Our teachers regularly participate in comprehensive induction and ongoing professional development programmes, inorder that they may be at the forefront of good practice. Among the workshops and seminars conducted by GEMS, listed below are a few in which our teachers participated.

A workshop under the aegis of CATE was held on 19th January 2006 at the O.O.E.H.S, Sharjah. It was conducted by Ms Hemlata Thawani who encouraged the teachers to consolidate abstract concepts through hands-on approach.
 
The Arabic and Islamic Studies Teachers attended a workshop held at The Millennium School on 2nd February 2006.
 
A course was conducted by Mr. Lyndon Bake r at the Magrudy’s Educational Resource Centre on 26th-28th of February 2006. He discussed how Mathematics could be used to encourage children to work creatively.
 
The Royal Dubai School hosted workshops on 5th, 6th & 8th March. The topics were:
Gifted/ Talented Children” by Dr. Lenore Kinne
Organizational Patterns for Teaching Reading” by Dr. David M. Bishop
Adapting materials for Language Learning” by  Dr. Gay N. Washburn
Project Based Learning” by Dr. Carol Ryan
Engaging Students in Critical Thinking in the Classroom” by Dr. Elaine Jarchow
 
Workshop on Behaviour and Medication Management of ADHD was held on 23rd April by Dr. Amer, Psychiatrist, at Dubai Community Health Centre.
 
Art and Play Therapy – Identification of Cognitive and Emotional Impairment workshop was conducted by Dr. Katuko Coehlo on 4th May 2006 at The Royal Dubai School.
 
GEMS Training Day- Asian School was held for all the newly appointed Teachers on 4th May 2006 at The Wellington International School.
 
Workshop on Learning Assessment was conducted on 14th May 2006 at The Millennium School by Ms Shobhana Verghese.
 
A workshop addressing various aspects of school counseling was held at The Royal Dubai School on 8th June 2006.
